Consider
using The Club
steering wheel lock to lock your steering
wheel when you park. Yes, I know they are
NOT invincible. What is? The value of
something is if it HELPS, however small,
provided there is not a directly competing
alternative that is better (and the cost
isn't too high). The club does NOT compete
with parking in a well lit area, rolling
up windows, etc. - it's not one or the
other - so use the Club, TOO. It will
ENHANCE your security. Odds are, most car
thieves will pass you up. Be sure you
have a backup key to your Club in a
separate place.
As a last
resort, The Club can be used as a self
defense mechanism. Divide it in 2 and give
one end to your companion.
Always
keep a backup key to your car door
(without any identifying info) stored in
your wallet - or give the key to your
companion.
You might
want to attach a string/chain to your key
chain and tie the other end to your pant's
belt "rung."
The term
"camp" comes from the Latin word campus,
meaning field.
If tent
camping scares you, try camping in a
"yurt." Yurts are becoming more and more
popular. They include beds, electricity,
and heat. Some yurts even include
bathrooms, TVs, microwaves, refrigerators
and kitchen areas! And they can cost
a lot less than hotels.
To find a
campground, yurt, cabin, or RV space,
you might want to check with KOA.com.

Camping Joke Of The Day
A minister, a priest and a rabbi went for a hike
one day. It was very hot. They were sweating and
exhausted when they came upon a small lake.
Since it was fairly secluded, they took off all
their clothes and jumped in the water. Feeling
refreshed, the trio decided to pick a few
berries while enjoying their "freedom."
As they were crossing an open area, who should
come along but a group of ladies from town.
Unable to get to their clothes in time, the
minister and the priest covered their privates
and the rabbi covered his face while they ran
for cover. After the ladies had left and the men
got their clothes back on, the minister and the
priest asked the rabbi why he covered his face
rather than his privates.
The rabbi replied, "I don't know about you, but
in MY congregation, it's my FACE
they would recognize."

Which Camper Are You? Native08 prefers to get away from it all: "Why bother to go camping, if not for the solitude and oneness with nature? Wilderness camping is where I go to chill."
jkd518 married a social butterfly: "Camp goes like this, we pull in, unload and set up camp. I get the dinner going while the kids take off and Hubby goes to find a new friend. They wander back in about time dinner is ready, and I get to hear about the discoverys they have made."
Phil likes a little of both: "I certainly don't mind socializing at the campground, in fact I love meeting new people that way. I do however prefer a campsite itself that offers some amount of privacy."
